The George R. Brown School of Engineering and Computing at Rice University is uniquely positioned to create disruptive solutions that advance the transition to clean energy.
Through REINVENTS (Rice Engineering Initiative for Energy Transition and Sustainability), we will leverage our efforts in energy and sustainability, coordinate with university-wide initiatives and partner with industry to develop innovative solutions that address existing and emerging environmental and climate concerns. These strategic collaborations will result in two-year, five-year and 10-year roadmaps for clean energy-based solutions as well as the development of a diverse workforce with expertise in clean energy technologies.
Our Commitment
Rice Engineering has made an initial commitment of $500,000 to be disbursed during the initiative’s first two years. The investment will support interdisciplinary teams through seed funding and other activities across three key areas:
- Energy generation
- Long-term energy storage
- Energy-efficient processes and materials
